New SSD Installation
A brand-new SSD may need to be initialised and formatted before it appears in Windows File Explorer.
This can normally be done through Windows Disk Management.
If you’re replacing the drive containing Windows, you’ll need to clone your existing installation or install Windows onto the new SSD.
Why Does Windows Show Less Storage?

Storage manufacturers advertise capacity using decimal measurements, while operating systems can calculate and display storage differently. Formatting and system data can also account for a small amount of space.
