Fast and Effortless Setup

Our SSDs come preloaded with the Windows setup files, allowing you to simply plug in the drive, power on your device, and follow the setup prompts. As long as your device previously ran Windows 10 or 11, the new installation should activate automatically using your existing digital licence.

Please note: This product does not include a licence key. If your system does not have an existing Windows licence, you will need to obtain one separately.

UEFI vs LEGACY Boot Modes – Explained

UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) is the modern replacement for the older LEGACY BIOS boot system. It provides faster boot times, enhanced security, and improved compatibility with newer hardware and software.

• UEFI Boot Mode is the default format we provide. It supports secure boot and is compatible with most systems manufactured after 2012.

• LEGACY Boot Mode (also known as BIOS boot) is still required for some older machines. It lacks advanced features but is essential for legacy compatibility.

If you are unsure which boot mode your device uses, follow these steps:

1. Press Windows + R, type msinfo32, and press Enter.

2. Look for “BIOS Mode” in the system summary.

3. If it says UEFI, you’re ready to go. If it says Legacy, please let us know when ordering so we can prepare your SSD accordingly.

• Running Windows 7/8? As of November 2023, Microsoft no longer supports upgrades from Windows 7 or 8/8.1 to newer versions. If you are still using these older systems, you will need a new licence for Windows 10 or 11.

• Windows 11 on Unsupported Devices? Yes, our pre-installed Windows 11 SSDs can work on devices that do not meet official hardware requirements. We recommend Windows 10 for older machines or those requiring LEGACY boot.
